I realize I won’t get through this journey without scars. I will have physical reminders of my decision to have a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy and DIEP flap reconstruction for the rest of my life. However, I know that that your grandmother had this amazing concoction for making scars less visible, whether it be vitamin e capsules opened daily, or like coconut oil…
I just wanna know what your granny suggested for lessening scarring. I’m pretty willing to try and buy anything to help this process!

Thanks y’all!

  1. I had a breast reduction, way back, and the best thing they told me to do was, once the scabs were gone, and for the first year, to use 3M micropore tape, and tape up all the scars, take the tape off in the shower, and reapply on clean, dry skin. They had done a study, and had everyone tape up one breast, and leave the other, and the ones that were taped up, had way smaller scars.
